8 Marathons completed; PR of 3:29.  Hoping to run Boston in next few years if I can ever register before the dang thing fills (have missed the last 2 years because of this).

Short-Term Running Goals:

Hoping to re-qualify for Boston sometime in 2011.  Hoping to hit marathon #10 in 2011.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Run 100 marathons in my lifetime and live to tell the tale.

Personal:

Married.  2 daughters.  Have a love/hate relationship with running.  Hate the first 3 miles of EVERY run without fail and grumble the whole time.  Feel okay during 3-6.  Love 6+ and LOVE how I feel when I am done (like I can take on the world and then some!).

Got a massage late last night and didn't feel better right away but feel much better today.  I can actually walk down stairs again.  Not sure if it was from the massage or just having another 24 hours to recover, but happy anyway.  Struggled through 2 miles doing 10 minute mile.  Ouch.  My quads are killing me and I am wondering how I ever run faster miles.  But, in good news, this is by far the soonest I have ever tried to start running again.  Usually I take at least 1 if not 2 full weeks off, and sometimes several months of cross training so I was proud of myself for that.

Struggled through 3 today averaging 9 minute miles, but feel loads better than yesterday.  Amazing what the human body can do in 24 hours to heal from the trauma of a marathon.

Took it slow--9 15 average, and almost back to normal.  Body is feeling almost pain free and run was fine.  Hoping this means fast recovery is occuring.  We will see how 6 goes tomorrow...trying to fit it in before I fly out to Knoxville at 1:00.
